If you love getting laser beam traffic... and lots of it without spending a dime, this is for you.

One of the best ways of getting traffic if you’re on a shoe string budget (or even if you’re working with a substantial marketing budget) is to harness the power of video marketing…

It goes like this…

There are two ways to can do video that I will discuss here. You can do a 'voice over' and that's where you have a still image displaying or a slide show presentation going, where you are speaking in the background and no one ever actually sees YOU.  This way, you don't have to worry about having a "bad hair day".  :-)  The other method is a 'live video' and that's where you are on center stage and star of your own ad campagin!

Voice Over:  This is where you can record your computer screen and your voice at the same time and upload the resulting video to the online service and you can even upload the videos to YouTube.

Live Video:  To do this, you will need a web cam or a video camcorder.  You can find these at WalMart for about $25 to $40.  You don't need the fancy one - a very inexpensive one will do.  Any web cam you buy needs to be able to allow you to save the videos in a format allowed on YouTube (avi, dvd, vob, flv, mpeg, ipod, mp3, ac3, svcd, mp4, wmv).  My favorite is WMV because the recording size is smaller than the others and I've never had a problem with it at all on any video site.

The steps below discuss  "Voice Over" video recording.  The same principles apply if you are doing a "live video" as well.

Let's get started!

1. Grab a desktop video recording software at camstudio.org – it’s a watered down version of Camtasia and doesn’t cost you a dime – it’s also COMPLETELY sufficient for this simple system I’m sharing right now.  There are others out there you can use if you don't like camstudio.org - such as www.ScreenToaster.com or www.JingProject.com.  Both are free.  I use ScreenToaster.com and JingProject.com - which one I use depends on the length of my videos.  JingProject.com limits you to 5 minutes.

2. Create a 2-5 minute video using Powerpoint or create a slide presentation using Google Docs (you can setup a free account at docs.google.com if you don't have Powerpoint or any other slide show software). Keep it SUPER simple... don’t have it professionally done or anything – keep it amateur and remember, you’re looking for traffic. Nothing fancy is necessary here to make this work effectively.

3. Use Google’s keyword research tool (it’s free) – all you need now is an Adwords account (again, free) that you can setup in 5 minutes at adwords.google.com.

4. This step is key – you’re looking for keyword phrases that have at least 1,000 searches per month and have less than 40,000 competing sites. To discover how many competing sites you’re going up against, take a keyword phrase that you’re researching to google.com – type it in the search box, using parenthesis. This will tell you how many other sites are using that phrase. The smaller the number, the easier it is to get ranked well on the search engines and get placed on page one (of organic results).

5. Once you’ve isolated a keyword phrase and you’ve recorded a short video using the desktop video recording software, now we need to distribute the video to a few video sharing websites. To keep things simple, we’ll submit the video to metacafe.com, youtube.com and dailymotion.com – there are lots of others you can submit to as well, but it’s not necessary at this point to list them all... you’re looking for organic search traffic with the search engines and just focusing on these 3 will allow that to happen.

6. When you submit the videos at each location make sure that keyword phrase you’ve discovered and met the parameters is mentioned in the title of the video (once) and in the description twice.

7. Make sure you tell them in the video to go to <yourbusinesswebsite>.com and promise to give them something to create the urgency for them to head over to that data capture page (in exchange for them submitting their information (the lead) give them a report, content filled video, some sort of “cheat sheet” that relates to your niche... but most importantly, give them sweet content that helps them!).

Example... let’s assume a big benefit for one of your products is “weight loss” and you’re going to optimize it for the keyword phrase “safe effective weight loss”.

Your video title might be “Safe Effective Weight Loss – 3 Easy Steps”.

The description of the video might read, “Safe effective weight loss technique. Short video discloses 3 safe and effective weight loss techniques”.

You get the idea – this is just an example.

So the objective here is when someone goes to do a search at any of the big search engines (yahoo, bing, google, live – or search their video results, depending on the search engine) and they type in the keyword you’ve optimized the video for, your video will show up in the results for that specific search.

Wait a day or two then type in the keyword phrase you used over at google.com and find your video!

That’s it!

Crazy simple... yet super effective technique.

The cool thing here is that you can “ramp up” with relative ease. Don’t just do this for one or two keyword phrases... you can knock out and submit each video in less than 20 minutes. Block out a few hours and have some fun.

Not only will this get you targeted traffic, but you’re getting quality leads without spending a dime. And it’s crazy fun too!

Using video marketing is a GREAT way to get a lot of attention to your business.  The most obvious choice is YouTube, but there are a lot more sites you can upload a video and have it seen all over the net.

After you've recorded some videos, you'll need to upload them to the video sites listed below.  Make sure that even if you upload the same video to all the video sites that none of them have the same title, description or keywords.

Record a video and upload it to the sites above talking about what your business offers them and what the benefits of the program are to the person watching the video and ALWAYS include a link to your capture page so they can opt-in to learn more.

These strategies can be used to build any business, by the way.
